

Think about your childhood. You are 7-8 years old. All the grownups are asking you "Who do you want to be when you grow up?". Have you ever replied "I want to be a Coach and a Senior Support Team Manager in a big multinational corporation"? I know I have not. And if I were to ask you, have you ever dreamt about helping people?

When I was a child, I wanted to be a doctor. My career trajectory has some similarities with my dream job. As a coach and a manager, I work with people and problems. My job requires empathy, attention to details and listening skills to discover a real issue based on the symptoms described; sometimes it also requires to doubt what I'am hearing and to tap into my curiosity. But the most important thing, is I get to help people. ​

In 2015, I applied for a position of Support Engineer at SAP Concur. During the interview, my future manager, Dana, asked me "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" ["who do you want to be when you grow up?" - right, how should I know?!]. I replied that I wanted to be a manager. She took it very seriously and worked with me for years guiding me, coaching and mentoring. In 2018, I successfully passed interviews and since then, I have been managing people at SAP Concur.
